Mauser ID Help
« on: July 29, 2017, 01:41:01 PM »
Hi all...I have been unable to track down info on this serial number...Model 98 serial number on too of the receiver as follows....

1211
  P
Also there is a worn off eagle to the left of the number, which I assume is German
And 1211 on the bottom
Can't seem to find the "P" on any I'd spots on the internet...it was my dad's gun...thanks

Received this Chilean 1895 built in Berlin.  Can't place the stock it says j.c. Higgins on butt.  Also has Lyman sights and can't tell if barrel is original or just changed.  Also the bolt handle is bent and looks stock serial number matches on all the parts except maybe the barrel but I can't tell where the barrel starts and stops. Any info will help thanks
