Bought a wild looking bayonet.  It is called a M1914 Pioneer.  Swiss cross proofed with manufacture H. St.   Just an unreal piece of steel.

How about some pictures, Jim.  And do you know on which rifle it was normally mounted?

It was advertised as a pre 1916 K98 bayonet.  After getting it home (and paying a healthy price for it), I looked up the proofs and did my homework.  It turns out to be an M1914 Pioneer bayonet that is Swiss proofed and made by H. St. manufacture.  It fits the Swiss 7.5, K31 rifle.  Not a very popular rifle and not very popular shells to obtain.   it is a low serial number, but that means very little.  I think I paid for an education.  It is bad butt cool looking, I must say and chain saw sharp.  Let me post a few photos of my learning experience.  Having a little trouble loading my phone photos.  I took an M1914 Pioneer photo off the web to show.  I will continue to attempt to download my photos.  I evidently don't know much about long guns.  I really wanted this to fit a K98.  With enough duct tape, it will.   I promise you no one will be yanking on it from the business end.    Top photo is the 2 foot monster attached on a K31 Swiss,

I Googled the M1914 Bajonett(?).  Results showed it attached to an M1896 rifle.  Of course, you know a lot more about the long guns than I do!

I will try and shoot a good photo of the double edge of the saw.  The top edge is angle cut with cross cut edges.  It looks like a shadow in the photo, but it is not.  Thanks for looking.   (Should have bought another HSc)
