Thank you for the schematic. Yes I have studied this oneclosely@ numrich.com That can’t seem to identify what these parts are that are missing on my gun from the picture. Any idea if the spring in my picture underneath the center slide start has a plunger missing?

Seems you are missing the magazine catch that blocks the trigger when the magazine is removed.

With the magazine removed you should be unable to pull the trigger.

Does the central pivoting lever in your picture have a plunger and spring actuating it or just a spring? The diagram shows a plunger. I am still at a loss what the circular shape is that is missing from the right side under the grip panel that fits under the silver leaf spring.

Can you point out which item on the schematic you believe this missing part to be? Thanks.

My pistol will fire without magazine in place. Can I see pictures of your mag. My mag does not have a shiny flat follower. It has the left side mag button release behind the trigger, left side. I think somebody bubba’d My magazine so it would work. Its a double stack follower, black plastic and crudely shaped with a file or Dremel to fit mag. It seems to work though. Does this pistol suppose to lock open on empty?

I see where that central lever was ground down on my pistol. Apparently so it would not be activated by the magazine.

My pistol is a Renato Gamba HSc Super 380. It seems i need a different magazine than yours. How does your mag release? Where is the catch located?
Any idea where to locate another Gamba magazine for my pistol?

Mine is a Gamba model 80. Should be identical really. No idea what that leaf spring is suposed to do. It's not present on other HSc models or the HSc 80.

Unfortunately the Gamba HSc's are almost impossible to find in Europe. Most were exported to the US.

It looks like someone tried to make a Browning .380 mag function with your pistol and made some modifications to get it to work.

Ive discovered mine is a late issue mauser HSc supercat with 15 round magazine. Spare mags seem unobtainium. Please let me know if any are available. Someone realy boogered this one up trying to deactivate the mag safety.

It is a HSc Super.

"CAT 6452" refers to the Italian gun model registry that used to be required for pistols made in Italy or sold on the Italian market.

Ive found several sources selling the 15 round hsc supercat mags and gun. Late production 2004 and after. Same magazine as mind. Has a slide stop activater that is part of follower that protrudes on the side of mag when empty. It lifts the slide stop. Side activated instead of by the rear lever.

I get the feeling someone tried to convert your pistol from one magazine style to another.

Which would not be that strange with the obvious scarcity of the magazines.

A slide stop feature was standard on all HSc pistols in one form or another. Including slide release (closing) when a magazine is reinserted.
