Nazi Police Eagle / L ?
« on: April 17, 2021, 10:47:34 PM »
All, I’m looking at an HSc described as being issue to the Nazi police, with the pistol bearing an Eagle / L.

What / which “Nazi Police” is being referenced?
Would this be German national police?
What is  the actual name of the “Nazi police”?

Thank you,

JGW

The "L" and much latter the "F" was used by member of law enforcement.   Police is a way to lump various enforcement personnel.   I have one "L" that was captured at Dachau.   There was no police at that location.  All the guards were SS.   I have another "L" that was captured at Schweinfurt.  That non-military man was a true city police officer.  The story of the L is long and mostly undocumented.   The story of the F is even more interesting.   I wish I understood it.
