Great, great article. Thank you for that super information. What is really interesting that I find, my dad's V-Mail was written 9 November 1943 at Epswitch, England, then delivered to Grand Dad in SW Missouri just 48 hours latter on 11 November. Someone had this system down pat! It is interesting to read that dad knew the war was over in November 1943 and that he would probably be home in the Spring. He just picked the wrong spring. Thank you again for that great info. I now have his service number, which I never had before plus his squadron number along with his bomb group. I knew his group number, but not the squad number. Best regards,
Jim
