Greetings and salutations to all of you Mauser fans from Chattanooga!

I hope I'm in the right forum, as the item I'm inquiring about is not a military rifle like my old 1939 Model 98, but a commercial hunting rifle made in the early 1970's.
My research shows the rifle recently sold to me as a Mauser, a model 3000, is actually a Heym with Mauser stamped on it. I thought I would start here to see if I could get some advice on how to fix the safety, as it wont lock into the "safe" position. The rifle was made in the early 70's, and is like new.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
